Tutor Services

Learning ABILITIES matches students with specific learning styles with tutors that can best meet their needs in their own geographic areas. Tutoring is one-to-one with multisensory instruction in reading, writing and spelling using the Phonics Fundamentals curriculum.

Step 1

The initial contact is made by phone or email. Information is shared about the student as well as Learning ABILITIES and their services. Following the initial contact, the next steps are determined.

Step 2

An initial screening is scheduled. The purpose of the screening is to determine a baseline of specific skills that would help guide in providing multisensory, structured language intervention. Assessments are appropriate to the student’s age and current abilities.

Step 3

A conference is set up and the results are shared including a written report. A Learning ABILITIES specialist is partnered with the student and lessons are scheduled. Materials are prepared for the student. It is recommended that students receive lessons twice weekly for 45-60 minutes.
